Overheard...

Overheard on the train to London this morning...

Dad: You see that there, that's 'The Gherkin'.

Kid: OK, cool.

Dad: It's called 'The Gherkin' because it looks like a cucumber.

Was it you I had an argument with because I thought it was called 'The Walnut'?

And what's that picture background of behind mitchenstein? You know, its only just clicked that you chose that name because it sounds a bit like 'lichenstein'. I always thought it was just an odd name...

Naah, Mitchenstein just sounds German - like Frankenstein ... or Wolfenstein. ;-)

Oh, and I always thought of "The Egg" when I saw that architectural extraordinarity..... But "Gherkin" is alright to me... sounds like German "Gurke"... good to remember. :D

Well it was supposed to be a beautiful picture of the London skyline, but then once I'd put it into the template, only the bottom corner was visible - but I quite like it actually!

And yes, mitchenstein was a cross between my name and Liechtenstein. I was a little bored and was feeling creative and it stuck!

Hi John. The corps is close to old Riga so you should come see us. Let me know when you'll be in town and we will meet you. You can email me from my blog and I'll send directions and my mobile.

I've heard it called a lot more rude names than that...

Didn't want you to feel left out and unloved, Mitch...

Isn't it amazing!
Just one day after you posted that article I read the TV magazine (and I actually didn't open the pages of this charming-sinister book often in the last weeks) and that day (which was that day after that day that you posted that - get me? ^^) there was a report in it called "The Gherkin"!!!
In my mind I was quite laughing about that coincidence. :D

Daniel, that has to be the most complicated comment anyone has ever left on this website!

Lol, sorry... :$ ^^
It's the way I write - I know it's quite complicated because I just through in what I think, I guess.

By the way, the reason why I actually wanted to post a comment again: Exactly one week and one day after I saw this documentary in the TV mag my Dad told me of it and that he recorded it. Haha! Now I watched it and i know everything about that gherkin that looks like cucumba... ^^

Ok, ... I write too much, but what shall I do, I'm sitting in the office, no one else in this room today.. :-p

Ok, see ya later!
