No, of course I haven't been selected to sing at Eurovision (not this year anyway), but you can't have failed to notice that it's May soon and that means Eurovision will soon be knocking on our doors.Now, you may not know this, but for many years, countries had to sing in one of their official languages. A few years ago (I don't know when), they (whoever 'they' is) changed the rule so that countries can sing in any language they like. This was of course great for countries like Iceland and Finland who generally speak good English and could now sing in a language that other people had a chance of understanding. However, some other countries don't quite have the English skills they think they have. They can be kind of creative with the English language, I feel.
So as I felt like a break from revision, I decided to have a go at writing a song, Eurovision-stylee. I think you'll agree that it's beautiful. It's called 'Please Don't To Cry'. (And what started out as a stupid five minute joke actually took a lot longer.)
(NOTE: I even included the customary 'name-as-many-other-places-as-possible-so-that-they'll-vote-for-us' trick. A sure-fire winner.)
(NOTE 2: This may be the ultimate in the procrastination that Glyn was talking about).

Wow. You've obviously missed your calling as an international song writer... The Soo and Sooty part is my favourite. It really makes the song.
I really hope you get this job, I think maybe its time you channelled your energy into something useful.
